Why dogs always scratching their ears?

If your dog’s always scratching their ears… read this! 👂🐶
You might notice your dog shaking their head or scratching their ears nonstop — especially during the rainy season, after swimming, or following a trip to the dog park.

Ear issues are super common in dogs — and they’re not always just about earwax. 🐾
If you peek inside and see yellow or reddish-brown gunk, or notice a funky smell, it could be an ear infection… or even ear mites. 😬 Dogs with these issues can also be sensitive to touch around their ears.

If your pup matches any of these signs, it’s probably time to visit your vet!

Which breeds are more prone to ear problems?

🐶 Floppy ears: Cocker Spaniel, Groodle, Labradoodle, Cavalier, Poodle, Cavoodle, Spoodle, Moodle, Shih Tzu

🐩 Lots of ear hair: Poodle, Schnauzer, Bichon Frise, Havanese

How to help prevent ear infections or mites?

✅ Check their ears regularly — once a week is great!

✂️ If your dog gets groomed often, your groomer can also let you know if something doesn’t look right. Keeping those ears clean and dry goes a long way!
